Greenwood / Greenbriar

Calgary, AB

Greenwood Village (Greenwood / Greenbriar) is an established residential community in northwest Calgary, tucked between the Bow River and 16th Avenue NW. Developed largely in the 1960s and 1970s, the neighbourhood is known for its mature, tree-lined streets, generous lots and a mix of classic bungalows, split-level and renovated two-storey homes. Its elevated position above the river valley gives many streets a quiet, park-like feel, with easy access to the Bow River pathway system and nearby Edworthy Park. Everyday shopping is close at hand with Market Mall and the shops along 16th Avenue NW a short drive away, while downtown Calgary is an easy commute via Bow Trail and the river pathway network. The area's character — well-kept older homes, established gardens and an active community association — appeals to families looking for more space, professionals wanting a short commute and downsizers who prefer a single-storey home near amenities. With its natural setting and mature housing stock, Greenwood Village suits buyers who value neighbourhood character over cookie-cutter new construction.
